You decided to try out making money online, you browsed the internet then BOOM! Suddendly a truckload of opportunities came banging in your door.

There are too many exciting opportunities online. With all of these stuffs, where do you actually start your money making online venture?

How does a person who just tried making money online decide what to do next? This is really difficult, most especially to newbies. More than a hundred opportunities will be presented to you, and all of these will promise you the same thing – you will make money online within the next few days, weeks, or months if you just give them $9.95, $17, $27, etc…

With these amount of opportunities, how can you make sure that you will get only the best ones? Several newbies never got their website and product up because they are stucked on this step. Some have been scammed, some have been intimidated. You just need to be careful in choosing the starting point of your online business.

Here are 10 steps you need to take in order to find that starting point or the opportunity that you’ve been searching for.

How do you find real “Making Money Online” Opportunities:

• Study and Learn – research and learn everything you can! You can start with the free 4-month subscription of my newsletter. I made it for the purpose of teaching you what works, what opportunities you should really try out and what opportunities to look out for in the future. The newsletter will save you hundred hours worth of research, filtering out all the crap and trash online.
• Invest – only put money on things that will really help you grow your online business. Those that are related and can help you achieve your goals. On my newsletter, I only put the best of the best online stuffs so you are guaranteed to receive the most value out of your investment.
• Learn the art of searching the internet – this doesn’t mean by just typing in the information you want to search on search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN). If you master the art of searching the internet, you will know its language and the exact keyword to search in order to find the precise information you want to appear on the list.
• Look for good, high quality information products – there are hundreds of these, and most of them are FREE! Start with my other website here – Internet Marketing Products. Again, only find those that are related to your goals. As always, be careful. Do not just buy into marketers selling huge internet marketing packages of ebooks for pennies. Most of these are just wasting your money and your time.
• Join in forums that are related to your business – as what I’ve talked about on one of my posts, Saving While Making Money Online, forums are a gold mine of information. Find ones that are active like Digital Point Forums and Warrior Forum.
• Know that not every opportunity is “your” opportunity – do not just jump into every opportunity presented to you. If you see that there are a lot of people being successful on it, it does’nt mean that the opportunity is also for you. Read the second bullet point, Invest, again!
• Find things that you really enjoy doing – what’s your passion? Find the things that you are really interested at and specialize in that area.

Knowing where to start and finding the right opportunity doesn’t mean that your success online is guaranteed. You have to dive in! Once you know your starting point, take action and aim, and jump to it.

Most internet marketing products focus on how to make money online. If you bought an ebook or any internet marketing product, then you know already that inside each product, there’s another recommendation you need to buy in order to reach a specified income level.

Although there are some exceptions, finding the right product for someone who just learned internet marketing is not that easy. I don’t mean that you can be rich with no money invested, there’s some who made it…but its a really rare case. What I can teach you is how to cut the cost and save while making money at the same time.

How to Save and Make Money Online At The Same Time:

• Don’t buy a product impulsively! This might be common sense, but internet marketing newbies fall easy to this trap. A crappy product can sell like hotcakes if it has a killer sales copy. I know…I’ve fallen to a dozen of these craps. Ask yourself first if the product is in line with your goals and would really help in your business.
• Stay Focused! Before starting your online business, you should have created a plan and commit yourself to act on it. Don’t be diverted away from it. Don’t jump from one idea to the other!
• Check offers at http://www.warriorforum.com. If you don’t know warrior forum yet, this is one of the most active forums that are for internet marketers. This is where the gurus meet. And this is where the best and cheapest offers can be found!
• Find a bonus first before purchasing a product! Almost all internet marketing products or services have a bonus package set up by affiliate marketers. If the product or service is a high quality product, there’s a lot of bonus packages to choose from. Just Google search = “<product name> bonus”
• Subscribe to top internet marketers or the “gurus” list. I know, it really is a hassle to be in an internet marketer’s list. Being bombarded with a lot of emails a day is really irritating but some of the best bonus packages are given by them! Here are some top guys I know that really gives the best bonus packages:
  • Howie Schwartz – Google SEO and black hat traffic products
  • Eric Rockefeller – Affiliate marketing Products
  • Matt Callen – Bundled bonuses (usually softwares and membership)
  • Ian Del Carmen – Bundled bonuses (usually internet marketing related products, sometimes with rebates)
  • Anik Singal – Bundles bonuses that complements the product being sold
  • Simon Hodgkinson – Bundled bonuses (softwares, ebooks, memberships)
  • Calvin Wong – Internet marketing softwares and rebates
  • Adeel Chowdhry -Rebates, internet marketing softwares and products
  • Dave Guindon – Softwares, scripts, memberships
  • Ewen Chia – Bundled bonus, ebooks, videos
  • Mark Ling – Audios, interviews, teleseminar recordings
• Try to buy the product with your affiliate link. This is a technique that I learned from Derrick, a top internet marketer. Some affiliate programs and networks allow this. Some don’t. Read the merchant’s rules, terms and conditions if this is allowed or applicable. Try to use a credit card that is different from what you put when you signed up.
• Save on monthly costs by looking for lifetime or one-time fee memberships. There are a lot of these out there. The best that I found (starts with the cheapest) are listed below:

  • SureFireWealth – http://www.surefirewealth.com
• Before buying the product, try to close the page of the website. More often than not, it will have a pop-up offering you discounts, trials, or other free offers.

This might not help you from making money onine but this will surely cut your online business expenses and add a lot of value to a product that you’re interested to purchase. Save and make money online at the same time!

Being a newcomer to the world of affiliate/ internet marketing is a real handicap to most of us. A newbie can easily get lost to all the information online.

This is actually the first step that you need to get out of the newbie stage – getting to realize that you know enough.

A lot of marketers get into a trap or “loop” of buying product after product and e-course after e-course finding for the “magic” formula to riches and instant success.

A lot of these newcomers enter the world of internet marketing because they thought that this online stuff is really easy. So they start searching real hard for that easy formula. I can only think of one thing why we do this…laziness.

I should know, I’ve been there. And you will never get out of that information “loop” until that day that you realize that the formula you are searching for is never easy. And that you already know how to be successful online.

I’ve spent a few hundred dollars looking for the same “magic” formula and I know others who have spent much more than that. But I never found it. They never found it. And you will probably never find it as well.

Why? Because there isn’t one. There is an exception though, but if those come up, it will not last long. Eventually the market will become saturated with marketers running after that opportunity and what happens next? The opportunity loses its steam.

That’s why it’s so important to just go and participate in online forums or communities. Read all the free information and stuff, and from there, choose a path that is suitable for you.

Only after you are done deciding on that path that you can start buying a few products that are ONLY related to the path you chose. Never divert to that path!

After you bought a product, you need to commit to it. Don’t get easily distracted because another new product is offered, promising the next big thing. Even if it does live up to its hype, eventually it will lose its power as everyone else run to it.

FOCUS! Every marketer is going to sell you something. And all of them will also convince you that their product is the next big thing, but in the end they are all JUST SELLING SOMETHING.

It doesn’t mean that you don’t need to buy these stuffs; it’s good to buy e-courses and products, just focus on a specific path and get the work done. Don’t get sucked by the information loop by buying every new product that comes along.

I assure you, that will never stop. New products with the same promises will come out one after the other.

Know when to stop! You can easily get addicted to it. Just admit and acknowledge that problem and move on.

Take a look at what you have on your hard drive. I bet there’s a dozen of internet marketing products’ lying on your desktop. Reassess yourself and make a decision to start taking action!

Get out of that newbie stage! Start investing money into your online business and not to information products.

In every aspect of life, the first one is often the hardest to make.

Same goes to your online business.

In a single year, thousands of people are joining the online marketing bandwagon. They just jump in and created their business online…then quit at the very first sign of defeat.

They never exerted much effort to know if their idea will be a hit or a miss. This is why earning that first dollar online is really crucial to you and your business.

Once you make your first dollar online, all you need to do is duplicate your success. Do what’s right and eliminate what’s wrong and you can turn that dollar into a hundred, then to a thousand, and then into a million.

For newbies starting out, do not complicate things.

I know that you envision your online business to make million dollars in the future, but at this point, you don’t need it. If you focus too much on that million dollars, you’ll just lose sight on the more important things (one of which is making your very first dollar online).

Stay focused to that particular goal only. If you get caught up on the big picture of making millions, you’ll surely be disappointed and quit if you can’t get that million dollars immediately. When you quit, you don’t have a chance anymore to check if your product is profitable or not.

If I were to start from scratch on my business again, this is what I’ll do:

Prepare Where To Aim Your Fishnet But Catch the Small Ones First

At first, go with small ones. Those that you can sell right away. This may be a product in your hard drive that has a resell rights or it can be an affiliate program.

The secret is to start taking action as early as possible. Get a feel of the internet marketing methods and get your feet wet. Start small. I know you have a million dollar product in mind, but creating something that is so big at this point in time will eat up all of your time and money. This will greatly take away your ability to make even a few hundred dollars or even a single buck.

Follow these steps until you earn your first dollar on the internet:

• Research your market – figure out what people are talking about in forums and community groups of your target niche. Find out what people need and are willing to pay for. Find out what products are hot right now by searching Amazon.com, Ebay, and Yahoo Shopping.
• Write a review – as an internet marketer, our job is to be an information provider to those who are likely to buy a product. Write a review that will answer all the questions of a prospective buyer. Satisfy their hunger for information! If you have a similar product to give away, you should create an opt-in list. People would sign up in exchange of your free product – they get the product, you get their email. This will greatly increase your conversion rate as you can follow up with your list through email. You can also offer other products to your list in the future.
• Drive targeted traffic to your review site – Go back to the forums and community groups that you have visited a while ago. Socialize with them and post a reply that relates back to your review site. Customize your signature link with a call to action that will take them to your review site.

If you follow these steps, your first dollar online will be just around the corner.

Pushing Your Momentum Higher

Your review website should not be limited to just one product. Develop an authority site by putting fresh reviews on new products that are on your niche.

Don’t make a review to a product you haven’t tried yet. Only offer high quality products that you have tried and tested yourself. Put a proof or evidence of your results from trying that product. The key here is that you should be as transparent as possible on your reviews.

Drive traffic to your review site, once a new review is up, from paid traffic such as pay-per-click marketing and ezine ads marketing and from free traffic like forum posting, blog commenting, writing articles and press releases, search engine optimization, email marketing, and so on…

Survey Your Market

Ask your market for information that they like to receive or questions that they like to be answered. Make a survey and send it to your list. This information is priceless to you as an internet marketer. You can later on create a product structured around that information, or find an affiliate program that is most suitable for it.

What If I Don’t Have A Large List Yet?

Plan a survey campaign. You can do this by creating a survey website and give a product as an incentive to those who answer your questions/ survey. Launch a pay-per-click campaign to drive traffic to that site. Choose a CPA offer that is complementary to the product that you’re giving away to minimize the cost of advertising or even earn while doing this.

This method is effective for those starting out and just planning what products to make.

After Your First Dollar Online

Learn the importance of reinvesting the profits you made back into your business. Don’t just buy any product that you are offered to, put that money into training, education and tools that you think your business needs.

Million dollar online businesses are there because the owners consistently reinvest a certain percentage of their profits back to their businesses. They know that by reinvesting, they are preparing their businesses for further growth and expansion.
