- Community forums – participate in forums within your niche. Know what people are looking for. What problems do they want to be solved? Make sure that the forum is active and has many members.
- Short Course Catalogs – this is a great idea for upcoming trends. Look for online class directories like “The Learning Annex” and look for courses that are selling fast. You can also look for seminars and events as well.
- Offline Methods:
- Magazine Racks or Stores – look for related magazines in your niche. See if it’s been around for some time. Check for its contents and read the articles. This can give you an idea on your product’s topics.
- Book Stores – just like magazine stores, check for the best selling books on your local book store. Take note of the nature of how these books were titled and how you can use it to your product.
- Passionate People - open your radar when someone talks about your niche passionately. This people can be found at parties, at seminars, or at conventions. Listen to how they talk to each other. What are the common problems they’re having and where are they spending the most bucks.
